Trevor Davis is the ideal leader for your project. With over 30 years of experience in the offshore industry, he combines discipline, drive, and adaptability to ensure success.
Trevor’s passion for the ocean ignited at age 13 while scuba diving in Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island. At 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS George Washington. Initially, he was an Aviation Ordinanceman (AO) on the Flight Deck Ordnance Crew for Fighter Squadron VFA-131 Wildcats. He later joined the Integrated Weapons Team for a squadron of 11 F/A-18 Hornets, supporting Battle Group 6 and Carrier Air Group 7. Throughout his naval career, Trevor was deployed to the Mediterranean Sea, Adriatic Sea, and Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Southern Watch (Iraq) and Operation Joint Endeavor (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
After leaving the military, Trevor transitioned to the Merchant Marine Industry in New York City, working as a member of the Local 333 Maritime Union, where he delivered aggregates via tugboats in the tri-state area. At 27, he relocated to Houston, Texas, to pursue a career in commercial diving. Following six months of training at the Ocean Corp, where he earned his Commercial Diver Certification, he launched a successful career in the oil and gas sector.
Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Trevor earned a Bachelor of Business degree and an MBA from the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, completing an international residency in Beijing and Xi’an. His extensive international experience spans the Middle East, Southeast Asia, South America, Europe, and Scandinavia.
Throughout his career, Trevor has held key positions, including Estimating Manager for Global Industries, Technical Sales at Kongsberg, Vice President of Seamar Divers International, and General Manager at LL&G Construction. For the past five years, he and his ex-wife, Collette—who remains a close friend and currently serves as Senior Vice President and CFO at Hydra—have transformed the company into a leading provider of offshore and subsea construction services. Under their leadership, Hydra has consistently ranked among the top 20 of over 650 Cougar-owned businesses in the Houston Business Journal’s Cougar 100. The independently owned company continues to innovate and expand its offerings to serve the offshore and subsea industries, drawing on Trevor’s extensive knowledge in diverse offshore operations.
Outside of work, Trevor enjoys spending quality time with his 14-year-old son, Joseph. He is an avid long-distance runner and regularly practices his shooting skills at the range. One of their favorite activities is indoor skydiving at various wind tunnels around the world, including locations in Sydney, Milan, and Abu Dhabi. Trevor has also been a licensed skydiver for over 30 years, and you can often find him jumping out of planes nearly every weekend.
Driving our mission to bring together people and resources to create value is our company leadership. The entire Hydra team is committed to completing offshore construction and subsea projects safely and efficiently from subsea to surface.
