Sanjai Jatar is a seasoned maritime executive with over four decades of experience in the marine, offshore and subsea construction industry.
Based in Houston, Sanjai is a key member of Hydra’s Executive Leadership Team. His focus is on operational excellence, safety leadership, and the successful delivery of complex offshore projects for a diverse group of clients operating in the Gulf of Mexico and beyond.
Prior to moving into senior executive roles, Sanjai served as Master on dynamically positioned (DP) offshore construction vessels, gaining extensive hands-on experience in deepwater operations. Over the course of his career, he has been directly involved in the execution of complex offshore projects in challenging environments across Australia, the South China Sea, the North Sea, the Caspian Sea, West Africa, Peru, and El Salvador. His work has included the mooring, towing, and installation of FPSOs, semi-submersibles, spars, and FSRUs/LNG tankers, as well as the installation of subsea flowlines, manifolds, and connected subsea infrastructure.
Sanjai brings a deep understanding of vessel operations, subsea engineering, and marine asset management, having overseen complex projects involving DP2 and DP3 construction vessels, ROV systems, and heavy-lift offshore equipment. He has authored and presented technical papers on topics including dynamic positioning, project execution, offshore installations, and vessel operational efficiency at leading industry forums such as the OTC, Deepwater Technology, and MTS DP Conferences. He obtained his MBA from Texas A&M University and is also a certified Project Management Professional.
