Hydra Subsea deployed the Subsea Responder IV to execute a Tendon Tension Monitoring System (TTMS) cable replacement on a deepwater Tension Leg Platform in approximately 3,300 feet of water. The project involved the removal and replacement of 12 TTMS cables routed from the topside conduit, down the platform column, across the pontoon, and along each tendon to the monitoring clamps. In close collaboration with diving partner Phoenix International, Hydra combined surface-supplied diving operations with ROV support to deliver safe, efficient execution across all tendons.
Hydra was contracted to perform the full removal and installation of TTMS cabling across three pontoons and six tendons. The scope included recovery of existing cables, installation and routing of new TTMS lines, subsea handling and positioning, and verification of proper placement and connection at each tendon clamp. The project required coordinated vessel, diving, and ROV operations to ensure precise installation and continuity of the monitoring system.
The campaign involved complex subsea operations at depth, requiring careful coordination between divers and ROV systems. Cable routing along structural members and tendons required precision handling to avoid damage and ensure proper alignment. Additional challenges included working within confined subsea geometries, maintaining diver safety during surface-supplied operations, and executing efficiently within offshore weather and operational constraints.
Hydra Subsea brings a fully integrated approach to offshore intervention—combining vessel, diving, and ROV capabilities into a single, streamlined operation. Our experienced offshore teams are skilled in executing complex subsea scopes with precision and efficiency, while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and client satisfaction. This project was completed ahead of schedule, reinforcing Hydra’s reputation for reliable, high-quality execution in demanding offshore environments.
