Project Highlights
An onshore oil heating facility that processes crude and natural gas required decommissioning. The company awarded Hydra Offshore Construction the project in order to remove contaminants from all vessels and piping.

Project Scope of Work
Hydra was contracted to flush and purge all vessels, tanks and process piping at the onshore oil heating facility. The project scope included provisions for all personnel and equipment required for the safe and efficient execution of all flush and purge activities conducted at the site including assistance of pigging operations to an offshore pipeline as well as pipe cutting.

Challenges
The challenges involved entry into confined spaces with limited accessibility as well as preventing environmental leaks and spills. Special precautions were taken due to the hazardous environment caused by Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) gases, Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) gas releases and exposure to other high-pressure liquids and gases.

Why Hydra
Recognized as one of the leading oil and gas decommissioning service companies in the industry, Hydra was committed to quality, safety and customer service throughout the duration of the project. The key to success is Hydra’s commitment to working with clients and partners to find optimal solutions in the demanding oil and gas upstream sector.
